tricky questions on the road lately. for indeed where am i? i'm here, walking the streets of amsterdam. i notice the pavement, the dots and the words. i also notice the bits of grass in between the tiles. and they take me away from the road underneath my feet.

i'm gonna leave amsterdam this summer. i found a job in leeuwarden -or ljouwert- in fryslân. and i'm really happy and excited about that. i also know i'm gonna miss living in amsterdam.

no matter how much i like being in fryslân, how wonderful it feels to move in with my love and how interesting my job is going to be. the amsterdam streets are crumbling away beneath my feet. i look forward to leaving amsterdam, actually i look forward to missing it. but while i'm still here it feels kinda awkward.

the question strikes a chord. where am i? then i notice the tufts of grass and they make me smile. i'm ok.
